Privacy and child safety

Data we collect
Account data (name, email), athlete profile data (sport, date of birth, position, physical data, club history, biography), media you upload, and the contact requests exchanged between clubs and athletes.
Under-18 athletes
Scoutly focuses on athletes aged 14-17, so most profiles belong to minors. Minor profiles default to visible to verified clubs only, never to the open web unless the athlete and guardian change it. A parent or legal guardian must be invited and confirmed on the profile, and only that confirmed guardian can approve a club contact request. Clubs cannot send private messages to a minor.
Visibility controls
Every profile has three levels: visible to everyone, visible to verified clubs only, or private. Statistics, media and coach reports follow the profile visibility.
Who can see contact details
Contact details are never listed publicly. A club sees them only after an approved contact request, and the approval is recorded with a date.
Storage and processing
Data is stored in the managed cloud backend that powers Scoutly, with access rules enforced at the database level. Media files are kept in private storage and served through temporary links.
Deleting your data
An athlete or their confirmed guardian can delete the profile at any time, which removes statistics, media and contact history. Requests can also be sent to the Scoutly team through the address published on the site.
